In June 2021, the Minister Counsellor of the Malaysian Embassy in China and his entourage paid an inspection visit to KESM Industrial (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. The company’s management and relevant department heads extended a warm welcome, building a bridge for scientific and technological exchanges between China and Malaysia.

As the core base of Malaysia’s KESM Group in China, KESM Industrial (Tianjin) was established in Xiqing Economic and Technological Development Zone in 2007. The company has long focused on Semiconductor Burn-in and Final Test. Drawing on KESM’s decades of experience in semiconductor manufacturing dating back to 1978, as well as the resource advantages since its listing in 1992, it has steadily expanded its business footprint. The visit is not only a recognition of the company’s development achievements, but also a vital opportunity to deepen bilateral cooperation in the semiconductor industry.

During the visit, the delegation toured the exhibition hall and production cleanroom, observing the entire semiconductor burn-in and testing process. They inquired in detail about the company’s core technologies, production capacity and global market layout. The guests spoke highly of our rigorous quality management, advanced production facilities and outstanding performance. They fully acknowledged KESM Tianjin’s role as key base in China in advancing cooperation between the two countries’ electronics and electrical industries.

The electronics and electrical sector has become a major pillar of China-Malaysia cooperation, with around 60% of related businesses linked to semiconductors. This visit aligns perfectly with the trend of deepening high-tech collaboration between the two nations.

At the subsequent forum, both sides held in-depth and friendly discussions on closer industrial coordination in semiconductors, enhanced government-enterprise collaboration and leveraging policy benefits under RCEP. Consensus was reached on expanding cooperation areas, improving cooperation mechanisms and facilitating mutual learning of technological achievements. Both parties look forward to taking this visit as a new link to drive high-quality coordinated development of the high-tech industries and write a new chapter for China-Malaysia economic and trade cooperation.
